How Goku learned these martial arts
Born on Earth as a Saiyaman, Goku was sent to planet Vegeta by his father Bardock, who had foreseen the demise of their race at the hands of Frieza. While on board Frieza’s ship, Goku was made to wear a weighted training suit so that he would become accustomed to the heavier gravity that he would experience on Vegeta. After arriving and landing on the planet, Bardock abandoned Goku in a space pod which landed him in a remote area of the planet. He was soon after found by an old woman named Grandpa Gohan, who took him in and raised him as his own grandson.
Goku grew up learning martial arts from Grandpa Gohan, who taught him techniques such as the Kamehameha and many other powerful attacks. When he reached early adulthood, Grandpa Gohan was killed by a Saiyan named Raditz, who also revealed to Goku that he was actually a Saiyan himself. Raditz then took Goku prisoner and demanded that his younger brother Piccolo kill 100 Earthlings within one year or else he would return and destroy the planet.
Goku subsequently escaped from Raditz with the help of Piccolo and began training with him so that they could defeat Raditz and the two other Saiyan warriors, Nappa and Vegeta, who were en route to Earth. After emerging victorious against these powerful foes, Goku continued to train with various masters such as Master Roshi, Korin, Mr. Popo, Kami, King Kai, and Whis in order to become strong enough to protect Earth from future threats.
