Sword Art Online Progressive is the manga adaption of the first four novels of Sword Art Online. It focuses on Asuna and Kirito’s adventure on the first floor of Aincrad. The story begins with them still being a part of the original group that cleared the floor. However, they quickly develop a rivalry with another group as they both race to be the first to clear the floor. While this is going on, a new evil threatens their progress.
The History of Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online is a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. The series takes place in the near future and focuses on various virtual reality MMORPG worlds. The first volume of Sword Art Online was published in Japan on April 10, 2009, with a total of 22 volumes available as of September 2020. The series has been licensed for English-language release by Yen Press, with the first volume released on March 14, 2017.
The series has been adapted into three anime television series produced by A-1 Pictures and Genco. The first series, titled Sword Art Online, aired on Tokyo MX from July 7 to December 23, 2012. The second series, titled Sword Art Online II, aired on Tokyo MX from July 5 to December 20, 2014. The third series, titled Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld, aired from October 6 to December 29, 2019. In addition to the anime series, the franchise includes video games and spin-off manga series.
So when will SAO progressive come out?
The Sword Art Online Progressive manga is currently being serialized monthly in Dengeki Daioh magazine. As of September 2020, there are six volumes of the manga have been released in Japan. The English translation of theSword Art Online Progressive manga is being released digitally by Yen Press on a bi-monthly basis; as of August 2020, five volumes have been released.
The Characters of Sword Art Online
The characters of Sword Art Online are some of the most beloved in all of anime. So fans were understandably excited when it was announced that a new series, Sword Art Online Progressive, would be coming out. But when will this new series actually be released?
Unfortunately, there is no set release date for Sword Art Online Progressive yet. However, we do know that it will be released sometime in 2019. So perhaps we will get to see the characters of Sword Art Online in a whole new light sooner than we thought!
The Plot of Sword Art Online
The anime series Sword Art Online has been very popular since it came out in 2012. The story is set in the near future and follows the adventures of Kirito, a young man who is trapped in a virtual reality world known as Sword Art Online. He and his friends must battle their way through this world to escape.
The first season of the anime adapted the first two arcs of the Sword Art Online light novel series. These were the Aincrad arc and the Fairy Dance arc. The first arc follows Kirito and his friends as they try to escape from Sword Art Online, while the second arc focuses on Kirito’s quest to save Asuna, his love interest who has been imprisoned in another virtual reality world called ALfheim Online.
The second season of the anime adapted the third and fourth arcs of the light novel series, which are known as the Phantom Bullet arc and the Mother’s Rosario arc. The third arc follows Kirito as he tries to find out who is behind a series of murders that have been taking place in Gun Gale Online, another virtual reality world, while the fourth arc focuses on Kirito’s efforts to rescue Asuna from ALfheim Online.
The light novel series is still ongoing, and there is currently no word on when or if an anime adaptation of the fifth arc, known as Alicization, will be made. However, there has been an announcement that a newSword Art Onlinemanga series will be starting in December 2018, which will adapt Alicization. Therefore, it is possible that an anime adaptation of this arc could be made at some point in the future.
The Themes of Sword Art Online

The music of Sword Art Online is composed by Kajiura Yuki. It has been used in the anime series, the video game, and the films. The first opening theme song used in the anime series is “Crossing Field” by Lia, and the first ending theme song is “Yume Sekai” (Dream World) by Haruna Luna. The second opening theme is “Innocence” by Aoi Eir, and the second ending theme is “Overfly” by Lena Park. The third opening theme is ” Ignite” by Eir Aoi, and the third ending theme is “Yume Sekai” (Dream World) Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso OP 2 Ver. by Haruna Luna.

Sword Art Online Progressive is the long-awaited manga adaptation of the light novel series that fans have been clamoring for. It is written by Kota Nezu and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The first volume was released on October 7, 2014, and as of December 2016, six volumes have been released. The story follows the adventures of Kirito and Asuna as they progress through the game Aincrad.
The Reception of Sword Art Online
Since it first aired in Japan in 2012, the anime Sword Art Online has been hugely popular, with fans all over the world eager to find out when the next season or movie will be released. The wait for Sword Art Online Progressive, an upcoming anime series that is a reboot of the original show, has been especially long, with fans left wondering when it will finally come out.

The light novels are currently being released in English, so it may be some time before we see the anime adaptation. However, considering the popularity of the franchise, it is likely that Sword Art Online Progressive will be released sooner rather than later.
We can only hope that the release date for Sword Art Online Progressive will be announced soon. In the meantime, we can all re-watch the original series and read the light novels to prepare ourselves for what is sure to be an amazing addition to the Sword Art Online franchise.
